Emerging Tech 3

The final emerging technology I chose to explore is.... YOUTUBE!
Youtube is a website that has been around for about 5 years. The website is a place to watch and upload videos of almost anything, no explicit visuals. Youtube.com, despite some of the explicit language in some users' videos, can be both helpful and entertaining.
In a specific case, user "sxePhil", real name Philip DeFranco, hosts a public news show dedicated to discussing current news, in the form of rants and raves, filled with sarcasm, explicit language, and jokes.
I began using Youtube about 3 years ago so that I could subscribe to people's channels in order to know when they post new videos. Youtube is a site that is very easy to use. When signing up (the site is completely free at this point) you will not be asked for anything personal and the process is very quick. I believe that Youtube is useful because it is host to many educational videos, even videos from college professors.
In this video by user "sxePhil", he gives a recap of current ecological news along with the story of how a man deserved to be put in jail after 13 years of freedom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjTuSsfXukE
After using YouTube for a while, my advice is to subscribe to sxePhil because, if you find humor in this video, you'll love his others.

Emerging Tech 2

1. The name of the technology that I am trying out is Facebook.

2. This website is www.facebook.com. Facebook is a social networking site. I see the man reason of facebook as a means of staying connected to people. I think it is better than myspace was because it isn't as commercialized. Though facebook isn't as international as myspace, it is pretty big.

3. I began learning how to use facebook after some of my friends started to talk about it. I felt a little out of the loop, so I decided to sign myself up and figure it all out by myself. After I got signed up, the site was pretty helpful in terms of how to use it. So yeah, I'd say that facebook is very user-friendly. Personally, I find facebook to be a great way to stay in touch with people from my previous schools and also from my current school. I'm sure it will also be helpful with any future schools or even workplaces I attend.

4. http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=574445473 is my personal facebook. Facebook is also great because it has helpful privacy settings.

5. I feel like facebook is so user friendly that no tips are really needed. But, if I were going to give a tip, I'd say sign up soon and find your friends.
