The Beginning of the Blog...

There are many ways to introduce oneself, but none come naturally to me. So I must begin this, my first blog, as if I were speaking to a large crowd which I did intend to get a physical response from.

Hello to all. My name is Brandon Martin. I am a student of Education at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. My major is Secondary Education for English. As an aspiring English teacher, I am drawn to books of poetry, well written articles, and intelligent discussions. On the other hand, as a 19 year-old student, I am amazed by science fiction books, fantasy novels, and anything that would ease my mind and give me a short vacation from the world around me. The only problem I have with creating a blog, or really anything that begins with a personal introduction, is that I tend to ramble about whatever is in my head at the time, which would make for very long blogs.

If not for entering my W200 Education class, I probably would have never even thought about creating a blog. Because this is my first blog ever, I'm still a little confused as to what I am really doing, but the more I do it, the more exciting it becomes. :) I began creating this blog only about 20 minutes ago, but so far everything is very easy to find and the website itself is easy to navigate. If I had one piece of information to give to others who are thinking about starting a profile for their blog, or any social networking site, it would be to have a friend or two around to help. If you are anything like me, you have trouble writing down what you like. The point of having a friend nearby is because they will, or should, know what kinds of things you like.

Overall, blogger.com is pretty cool. I like being able to choose a templet and kind of make things my own. Oh, and I'd also recommend getting some good pictures for the blog. Despite not being photogenic, I think I've found an "ok" picture for this particular blog.

Thats all for now,

Brandon
